Sponsorship Family

When I arrived at Smile yesterday morning I saw Bogere playing soccer. I stopped and watched him running around and laughing with the other children as they played soccer together. Bogere has gotten more independent and is becoming better friends with the other children that live at Smile Africa. I am so proud of my sweet boy.

I went around and said hello to all of the teachers and then I went into the office to help Dorris with some sponsorship paperwork. I was making a file for Betty and Bogere. Betty is sponsored by a lady named Martha and Bogere is sponsored by me! :) It was fun making their files and organizing it all for them.

Once that was finished I went into the babies room to see Caleb. He was so handsome. Caleb was sitting on the floor having breakfast, so I couldn't hug him right away. I began feeding the other babies. Every time that I looked at Caleb, he would just start laughing. This boy is so cute. Betty and Bogere both walking in the babies room to play with Caleb. All 3 of them grabbed a toy and started playing. Caleb is not huge on sharing, so every time Bogere picked up a toy, Caleb wanted it, naturally. That was something that I was going to have to work on while I was here. The only person that Caleb will share with is me. So I needed to work on that aspect! After a few minutes of my sharing lesson, Caleb finally TOLERATED Bogere playing with HIS toys. It's not where we should be, but hey, baby steps!

During lunch time, Betty's sponsor, Martha, came to visit. It was so great to see her. When Betty saw Martha, she ran to her! It was very sweet. Martha brought presents to Betty and her other sponsor child, Richard. As the three of them were talking in the office I was finishing up some more paperwork. Then I overheard Martha explaining to Richard that she was his sponsor. Richard had no idea that Martha was his sponsor. When he found out that news he was so excited! He threw his arms around her and said 'Thank You' over and over again. It was a great moment. Martha looked at her children and said,

"We are family. The 3 of us. I love you children so much!"

"Thank you Jesus for this beautiful day. Thank you for giving these children a family. It shows me how you never forget about your children. You have given us all a family. Thank you for your love. We love you! Amen."
